Title page missing. Likely a later 17th century reprint. 713 pages, plus separate work "Angeiologia" with its own title page, dated 1678. Folio. Once an extraordinary and monumental work, this copy has been pillaged for its famous plates. There are 59 leaves missing (118) pages, each and every one of the full page woodcuts. Scores of partial page illustrations remain, as well as the (nearly) entire text, mercifully saved from the ravages of the picture poachers. Remaining illustrations include the giraffe, several deformed babies, diagrams of distillation, human anatomy and more. Pages are edgeworn and several pages are detached. Text block is broken in two at page 618.
