Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. In a completely unexpected way, Aurelio Amendola, a world-renowned photographer, goes beyond his consolidated practice of printing on paper to take up the challenge of the contemporary medium par excellence, digital, exhibiting his shots dedicated to Michelangelo on the screens of Rifugio Digitale. The gallery that hosted the exhibition draws its identity from its origin: an anti-aircraft bunker built in Florence during the Second World War to protect the neighbourhood from bombing. The redevelopment of the tunnel has given rise to a space that welcomes artistic expressions of all kinds, with a strong look towards the future and a strong predilection for everything that moves in the digital field. Antonio Natali, together with the photographer from Pistoia, selected these images, curating the exhibition and the volume, inviting us to pay attention to something completely different from the canonical iconography to which we are accustomed. In fact, we are presented with an iconic Michelangelo. AUTHORS: Aurelio Amendola, born in Pistoia in 1938, during his exceptional career as an art photographer has dedicated himself intensely to contemporary themes, coming to collect a real gallery of portraits of the most famous masters of the twentieth century. In 2024, the Spazio Vedova in Venice welcomed many of his shots in the exhibition "Amendola. Burri, Vedova, Nitsch: Actions and gestures", produced by the Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation in collaboration with the Palazzo Albizzini Foundation Burri Collection. Antonio Natali, born in Piombino in 1951, worked at the Uffizi from 1981 to 2016, being its director from 2006 to 2015. In 2006 he became Full Professor of History of Modern Art at the Politecnico di Milano. At the Uffizi he was also responsible for the departments of 16th-century and 17th-century painting and contemporary art. Among the exhibitions he curated is the triad of Palazzo Strozzi dedicated to Florentine art of the 16th century (in 2010, 2014 and 2017). SELLING POINTS: . Exclusive Exhibition: Experience Aurelio Amendola's first-ever digital photography of iconic sculptures by Michelangelo, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative digital techniques . Immersive Viewing: Admire stunning, large-scale images of masterpieces like the David, Moses, and Pieta, offering a unique perspective through refraction and transparency .
