Binding remains fairly crisp. The inscribee is Dr. Sarah Woolfolk Wiggins (1934-2020) who, upon earning her doctorate at Louisiana State University under the tutelage of Professor T. Harry Williams, enjoyed an illustrious career as the first female professor in the history department at the University of Alabama, served as editor of "The Alabama Review" for two decades, and authored two books regarding Alabama history.
