Softcover pamphlet bound in self-wraps removed from a larger collection of bound pamphlets with paper remnants along the spine. There are stab marks along the left edge with a tiny piece out from the bottom inner corner of the cover page where is is startin…g to pull away. There is also a small hole near the bottom center of the cover page. 36 pages, including the cover page. Very good. Founded as The New England Universalist General Reform Association in 1846, the words "New England" were dropped from the name in 1847. The UGRA had an ambitious agenda seeking reform in many areas of society. Indeed, the UGRA's report by the Rev. E.G. Brooks, D.D. touches on many subjects including "Peace", "Capital Punishment", "The Colored Man", "Slavery", "Temperance", "Idiots", etc.The last 11 pages is a "Report on Tobacco" authored by the Committee consisting of John Greenleaf Adams, Paul H. Sweetser and J.N. Parker.RARE.
