Vwery good. - Four original 5-1/4 inch by 8-1/8 inch photo postcards on heavy thick stock portraying poets and heroes of 20th century African-American literature & history. The cards include a portrait of Richard Wright from the shoulders up, Countee Cullen reading from his book "Color" at a stanchion, the Reverend Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. addressing a crowd, and one of Langston Hughes at the head of four other figures including Charles S. Johnson, E. Franklin Frazier, Rudolf Fisher, and Hubert Delany. Each divided back postcard is identified on the verso beneath the title at top left with the source of the images printed at the bottom. The versos are slightly soiled and a couple of the corners are lightly bumped. The emulsion is slightly peeling along the edges of the card depicting Countee Cullen. Very good.The commemorative postcards were published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in conjunction with its then controversial "Harlem on My Mind: Cultural Capital of Black America 1900-1968" exhibition from January to April 1969.…
