Kontrovers, weil sie auf der einen Seite als Meilenstein in der Logistik gesehen wird. Auf der anderen Seite hat sich die Technologie aber auch mit kritischen Stimmen auseinanderzusetzen. Auch wenn viele durchaus kritische 'Headlines' aus den an die breite Öffentlichkeit gerichteten Medien entstammen, so stellt die anhaltende Diskussion dennoch eine Art Spiegelbild der gesellschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung dar.
