André Maurice Jean Allioux-Luguet dit André Luguet, né le 15 mai 1892 à Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne) et mort le 24 mai 1979 à Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), est un acteur, un réalisateur et un scénariste français. Fils du directeur de scène et d'une pensionnaire du Théâtre-Français, A…ndré Luguet a eu très tôt la vocation du métier d'acteur. Il fait ses études en France et en Grande-Bretagne. Parlant couramment l'anglais, il débute dans un théâtre londonien et poursuit sa formation au Conservatoire de Paris. La carrière cinématographique d'André Luguet commence avant la Première Guerre mondiale : on le voit dans des films de Léonce Perret (L'Âme du violon, 1911) ou de Louis Feuillade (Jeune fille moderne, 1912). Il se spécialise dans des rôles de jeune premier plein d'humour et de désinvolture. Son charme lui vaut d'être réclamé par Hollywood. Du côté des planches, il intègre à son tour la Comédie-Française en 1925 dont il est sociétaire de 1927 à 1932. Jacques Feyder le dirige en 1930 dans Le Spectre vert et en 1931 dans son premier film parlant, Si l'empereur savait ça. André Luguet tourne à un rythme soutenu, tantôt à la MGM, tantôt chez Warner, dans des productions strictement américaines ou des remakes traduits par des Européens (Buster se marie, 1931, co-dirigé par Claude Autant-Lara ; Quand on est belle, id., d'Arthur Robison). De retour en France, il campe de nombreux personnages dans la tradition du théâtre de boulevard (Bourrachon, 1935, de René Guissart ; Les Amants terribles, 1936, de Marc Allégret) qui lui assurent un statut de vedette. Sous l'Occupation, André Luguet interprète des personnages de séducteur aux tempes grisonnantes (Le mariage de chiffon, 1941, de Claude Autant-Lara). Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale il se trouve relégué au second plan ; son style très british le conduira à incarner le major Thompson en 1955. Puis il se trouvera souvent cantonné dans des rôles de vieux beaux, comme dans Une Parisienne (1957) de Michel Boisrond, dans Les Racines du ciel (1958) de John Huston et Sacrée Jeunesse d'André Berthomieu en 1958. signed by author.
