Indeed Raymond Jean de Kremer (Gent 1887- Gent 1964) was a Flemish writer who felt himself equally at ease when writing French or Dutch. Initially he used the pseudonym Jean Ray for his French ; and John Flanders for his Dutch writings. He is generally considered to be the main precursor of Magic Realism in French Belgian and Flemish Dutch literature. The very fine engravings were pulled by the artist himself ; André Goezu, born (1939) and educated in Antwerp, of jewish descent. He moved to Paris in 1968 where he still lives.…
