Daher war das Ziel dieses Buches, eine in-line Nahinfrarot (NIR) Anlage an einem gleichlaufenden Doppelschneckenextruder zu installieren, um die Verteilung der Partikel zu charakterisieren. Zusätzlich wurden in diesem Buch die theoretischen Hintergründe der Nahinfrarottechnologie inklusive Funktionsweise der Chemometrik, Aufbereitung der Spektraldaten, sowie der Stand der Technik und die vielseitigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten und Leistungsstärke eines NIR-Spektrometers erläutert. Mit diesem Buch wurde demonstriert, dass die Nahinfrarottechnologie zur in-line Charakterisierung hervorragend geeignet ist. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass es durch Installation eines NIR Spektroskops an einem nanocompositeverarbeitenden Compounders möglich ist, den Extrusionsvorgang in Hinblick auf erhöhte und gleichbleibende Qualität der Nanocomposites zu optimieren.
