A pretty detailed history of Rabun county from the first settlers and the Cherokee Indians, with information about families that moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains from Virginia and Pennsylvania, how the county was formed, accounts of first settler families, information on the Civil War soldiers and slave owners. A few black and white photos throughout. 503pp. An excellent general history of the Rabun County Georgia area.

Presumed first edition (no direct edition/printing statement provided; printer's imprint only specified at spine heel). [14], 503 pages. Hardcover: H 23.5cm x L 16cm. No dust jacket present. Green cloth rubbed; spine cloth sunned/toned with flaking to gilt lettering; front board's gilt stamping remains fairly bright. Text block edges toned/foxed; light moisture stain at lower fore-edge with leaves towards rear affected at margins. Toning to endpapers; past owner's personal bookplate on front free endpaper; some foxing/toning to interior leaves mostly occurring to pages adjacent to book's b/w plates; top corners of pages 143-144 and 209-210 creased from past fold-downs; short tears at bottom gutter corners of pages 53-56. Binding is firm.
