Very rare poetic necrology on Angelo Emo, the last Venetian »Provveditore Generale da Mar«. - Contents: The booklet was compiled on in honour of the deceased Angelo Emo (1731-92), Venetian noble, administrator, admiral and last »Superintendent General of the Sea« of the Serenissima. It contains more than 30 obituaries in verse by various noblemen, politicians, poets etc. (some of them sign with monograms only), e. G. Ippolito and Giovanni Pindemonte, Daniele Florio, the archivist Giacomo Chiodo, and ends with a sonnet originally composed by the poets Jacopo Vitorelli and Angelo Dalmistro, the latter also signed as editor of the publication, on occasion of the election of Angelo Emo as procurator of St. Mark's - Condition: First leaf recto and last leaf verso as well as uncut margins with minor traces of use, otherwise well preserved. - Rarity: Particularly scarce in trade and institutions alike.
