Over 25 years ago the project of collaborative work devotedto the present stage of butterfly and moth fauna of Saratov,Ulyanovsk and Samara districts and adjoining territoriesof the Volga region, such as the vast collected materialon which demanded the compilation and publishing was discussedby us - three friends and colleagues - Vasily Anikin,Sergey Sachkov and Vadim Zolotuhin, who becamethe authors of the present edition. As result the conclusionwas drawn by us, that it is effective to use as a comparativebase well known writing work of E. Eversmann Fauna lepidopterologicaVolgo-Uralensis also taking into considerationthat its sesquicentennial jubilee has come.Necessity of summarizing on this, as it looked to us, thebest investigated group was motivated by the number of circumstances:on one side, the popularity⤠of butterflies (asmembers of our first part of the cycle), which from the collectorspoint of view takes an important sufficiently reasonedrole to complete the species list of Middle Volga region atthat moment, and on another side, the need in combinationof odd bits of information and their faunistic and taxonomicrevision. Moreover, all available significant works atthat time were devoted to the vast regions, with only a littleconcerning mostly interest layer of the Volga region entomofauna, which is frontier between Europe and Asia, or hopelessdepreciated both taxonomic and quantitative. Wingedby an idea of the creation sufficiently large work we havestarted to undertake a task energetically, however we hadsoon stumbled upon the serious nomenclatural and someother problems as well as extreme inequality of the territorialinvestigation. All this demanded the additional effortsand investigations, searching of a little known and hard toaccess literature, appealing to fundamental, mainly Russian, collections and so on. In the course of expeditionary workthe additional material was collected also on other groupsof Lepidoptera, that let us to extend the range of interestsand, based on the fundamental writing of E. Eversmann, tohit⤠the entire order Lepidoptera and to extend geographicallythe region additionally including into the area of interestsalso Astrakhan and Volgograd Areas and also Bashkiriaand North-Western Kazakhstan in order to maximallywalk up to the geographical outlines of the region, whichwas investigated by this outstanding naturalist of the 19thcentury in the whole. For widening of interest toward entire order of Lepidoptera, the series of lepidopterological hand-books of Europeanpart of the USSR published up to this time were alsofavored, and these series initiated the natural increase of interestto the regional faunistic investigations letting determinationof the collected material with high degree of reliability, especially among so named Microlepidoptera identification, that earlier created the formidable difficulties. The structure of the work we decided to offer in the tableform not only with a view to economy of place, but also forreaders convenience for searching of needful information.Order of taxa and nomenclatural decision are based on theavailable up to that time and mostly accepted in the professionalsphere sources of literature and systems of differentgroups having worked out by Russian and foreign specialists.Into the information block we decided to include dataon the imago phenology, preferential biotopes and also larvalfeeding preferences, among of them the special emphasiswas placed on the original data. The distribution in theregion is showed by marks in columns imaging the subjectsof administration division of territory for what the standardmarks of presence/absence and also marking of the type localityand so on. This cycle has been published up till nowduring almost 20 years also according to accumulation of dataon each group up to understanding by the authors of decisivecompleteness of information, therefore the order of eachpart published had no systematic dependence. ****** mediafritze® | wir können günstig! | Schneller Versand! ****** mediafritze® | we can do cheap! | Fast shipping! | Best quality, hand checked! | Our products have no adhesive labels! | You always get what you see on our photos! | Your invoice, with current VAT, will be provided to you immediately after successful checkout!
