Compiled by Ann Philbin (former director of the Drawing Center) and Jack Shear, this fascinating book collects an unusually broad array of Western and non-Western traditional and outsider art. There is also an excellent critical essay by Museum of Modern Art curator Bill Storr about the relationship of these drawings to their owners, explaining how an artist's collection may influence his or her style or express support for peers and "aesthetic communities."
