Los resultados de las entrevistas realizadas a agricultores y funcionarios del valle de Kiru se analizaron mediante teorías generales sobre los conflictos por el agua y teorías sobre el gobierno de los recursos de uso común, como los ocho principios de Ostrom y la teoría de la Tragedia de los Comunes. El análisis se realizó también a través del programa de estrategia de reducción de la pobreza del FIDA. El proyecto del FIDA ha tenido mucho éxito y ha contribuido a aumentar los medios de vida y el desarrollo de las aldeas. Sin embargo, el plan ha contribuido a una disminución de la disponibilidad de agua en el río Dodumera para el Mapea. Die Ergebnisse der Interviews mit Bauern und Beamten im Kiru-Tal wurden anhand von allgemeinen Theorien über Wasserkonflikte und Theorien über die Bewirtschaftung von Gemeingutressourcen analysiert, wie z.B. die acht Prinzipien von Ostrom und die Theorie der Tragödie der Gemeingüter. Die Analyse wurde auch im Rahmen des IFAD-Strategieprogramms zur Armutsbekämpfung (PRSP) durchgeführt. Das IFAD-Projekt war sehr erfolgreich und hat zu einer Erhöhung der Lebensgrundlage und der Entwicklung in den Dörfern beigetragen. Das Programm hat jedoch zu einer Verringerung der Wasserverfügbarkeit im Fluss Dodumera für Mapea beigetragen.
