Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The art book by Ismo Kajander and Anna Kortelainen brings a breeze to the atmosphere of Paris. The avant-garde of Finnish art is personified in the artist Ismo Kajander (b. 1939). He has played a key role in bringing and introducing a new international conception of art and contemporary art to Finland since the 1960s. Kajander has been an "artist of artists," reflecting in his work on the nature of art and the artist's role as a questioner of institutions. With the curiosity of an explorer and researcher, Kajander has conquered new areas of art perhaps more than any other Finnish contemporary artist. In his work, he naturally utilizes many means of expression, including photography. Kajander made his first trip to Paris during his studies at the Turku Art Association's school of drawing in 1961. This was the beginning of a productive research trip to the city that lasted for almost fifty years, first as short visits and later as months of work. And finally, Paris has become another hometown for Ismo Kajander and his wife Eva. The oldest works published in the book are from 1961 and the most recent from this year. Anna Kortelainen (b. 1968), another artist in Paris, is the author, researcher, doctor of philosophy and third-generation francophile. Text in French and Finnish. 143 pp.
