Such merging of technologicalcapabilities in devices is one example of mediaconvergence. This book is based on a doctoral thesiswith the same name. The main aim of this book is toassess how the views and strategies of newspapercompanies concerning media convergence correspondwith the opinions and views concerning convergence oftheir audience. In order to discuss this, seven typesof media convergence are suggested. Furthermore, thethesis explores how the newspaper industry isrelating to the processes of convergence, using twoexamples: newspaper companies ventures into the useof moving images, and the newspaper companies strategies for a future epaper edition.
