A collection of writings by Mike Quin (1906-1947), the pseudonym of Paul William Ryan, an American author, editor, and a member of the Communist Party. Quin was a Renaissance man of sorts and had various occupations in his career. He was a writer for the WPA Writers' Projects, reporter for the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO), broadcast producer for the National Maritime Union, and a columnist and founding editor for the Daily People's World. This book contains many writings by Quin, including essays, poetry, and prose, with a pro-Communist bent. Edited, with a Biographical Sketch, by Harry Carlisle. Wood engravings by Victor Arnautoff.
