Clive Arrowsmith had been commissioned to photograph Lowry at home. Perhaps it was Arrowsmith's youthful exuberance that resulted in him taking as many photographs as possible, so that by the end of the two days the range of images was considerable. Views of Lowry inside and outside his home in Mottram-in-Longdendale - described as "going dilapidated at the corners" by Barrie Sturt-Penrose, Nova's art critic - were joined by others taken on the streets of Salford. When the shoot was finished, Nova chose the pictures they wanted and, due to Arrowsmith's subsequent career in fashion photography, the others were forgotten. In 2016, their chance discovery in Arrowsmith's attic revealed a treasure trove of unseen pictures, which gives us a fascinating insight into the life of one of Britain's best-known artists.

Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Very good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very good. Clive Arrowsmith (Cover photograph) (illustratore). xx, 620 pages. Illustrations (some in color). Appendix I and II. Notes. Bibliography. Index. Minor edge soiling noted. An in-depth biography of Prince Charles discusses his preparation for the role of king, the upbringing of his sons, the constitutional implications of his separation from the Princess of Wales, and his future vision of the monarchy. Jonathan Dimbleby (born 31 July 1944) is a British presenter of current affairs and political radio and television programs, author and historian. Dimbleby joined ITV's flagship current affairs program This Week and reported on crises in many parts of the world. His coverage of the 1973 Ethiopian famine, The Unknown Famine, was followed by TV and radio appeals which raised a record sum internationally. In 1978 he wrote and presented the ITV series Jonathan Dimbleby in South America. In 1979 he joined Yorkshire Television, where he wrote and presented three ITV network series: 'Jonathan Dimbleby In Search of the American Dream', The Bomb, The Eagle and The Bear and The Cold War Game. He also presented the ITV documentary series First Tuesday. In 1985 he joined TV-am as presenter. In 1986 he returned to ITV as presenter of This Week. In 1988 he joined the BBC to present the new flagship political program On the Record. He wrote, presented and co-produced two documentary series: The Last Governor about the final five years of British rule in Hong Kong, and Charles: The Private Man, the Public Role, in which (then) Prince Charles spoke about his first marriage and his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles, now Queen Consort. For this controversial, headline-making study of the heir to the throne, Dimbleby spent hours in candid conversations with the prince, his personal staff, and close friends, and was given access to the prince's letters, private diaries, and journals. An intimate portrait of a life trapped by destiny, The Prince of Wales offers unique insight into the man born to be King. First U. S. Edition [stated], First printing [stated].
