Some draftees tell of their adjustment to the military ? what they saw as advantages, and what pissed them off. It's a word picture of wartime Los Angeles and how a girl they left behind and her family and friends fought WWII on the home front. It speaks of the wartime culture, what citizens did without, the songs they sang, the movies they saw.
