Schönes Porträt vor Notenhintergrund in ungewöhnlich großem Format. Rodzinski war der Sohn eines österreichisch-ungarischen Militärarztes und einer polnischen Musikerin, wuchs in Lemberg auf und studierte in Wien Komposition bei Joseph Marx und Franz Schreker. Er lebte ab 1926 in den USA und leitete dort als Chefdirigent namhafte Orchester, zuletzt (1947-1948) das Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Rodzinski verhalf Leonard Bernstein zu einem ersten Durchbruch und brachte 1944 in der New Yorker Carnegie Hall Arnold Schönbergs "Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte" zur Uraufführung. Gewidmet ist das Porträtfoto dem österreichisch-amerikanischen Violinist Franz Polesny, der drei Jahrzehnte lang 2. Geiger des Chicago Symphony Orchestra war. Signatur des Verfassers. …
