Nicholas Kratzer, Astronom von König Heinrich VIII., nach einer Zeichnung von Auguste Paul Charles Anastasi (1820-1889), die nach einem Gemälde von Hans Holbein (1497-1543) entstand. Gestochen von Francois Jacques Dequevauviller (17831848). Papierbedingte Tönungen, Randläsuren, siehe Fotos. Emilio Greco wurde 1913 in Catania geboren und wuchs in Sizilien auf. 1934 wurde er in die Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo aufgenommen. Seine ersten künstlerischen Arbeiten wurden durch den Zweiten Weltkrieg unterbrochen, während dessen er wiederholt zur Armee eingezogen wurde. 1947 erhieltber ein Atelier in der Villa Massimo in Rom.[2] Von 1955 bis 1967 lehrte er Bildhauerei an der Kunstakademie in Neapel. In Orvieto und in seiner Geburtsstadt Catania sind ihm eigene Museen gewidmet.
