Extremely rare, this little book reads as a narrated dialog between "Little Louis" and his father, mother, uncle, classmates and others, as he struggles to understand life, things of God, and his direction within the early years of his youth. The six chapters within are title: "Gods That are No Gods", "Image Worship", "Moment of Decision", "Profane Levity", "The Sabbath", and "Fruits of Decision". Bound in dark royal blue publisher's cloth, the cover is debossed in black ornamentation. Ornate spine lettered in gilt. Dark chocolate brown endpapers. Frontispiece is a black and white portrait of Louis De Sacy. Large print. 106 pp. Only one edition was found in three libraries on OCLC, # 11738925.CONDITION: External cover bears moderate soiling and light wear along the extremities. Cocked spine. Front free flyleaf has been torn away. Inner hinge cracked at the gutter between the copyright page and the table of contents page, yet binding is strong and no leaves are loose. Lightly toned throughout with only occasional mild foxing. Previous owner's names and brief annotation on the front pastedown and front flyleaf, else unmarked. A wonderfully whimsical little first edition, rare copy. Full refund if not satisfied.

Hardcover. Condizione: Good. 100p. A small brown cloth hardcover book in good condition. An anti-Catholic story about a poor Irish Catholic maid who is hired by a Protestant family. Although she says her priest forbids her to read the Bible, her employers encourage her to do so and she eventually converts to Protestantism and marries her Protestant sweetheart. Much of the dialogue is written in mock Irish dialect.
