Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Used; Good. Jane Austen is one of the most beloved and renowned authors in classic literature. Decorative, antique copies of her works, such as Sense and Sensibility and Northanger Abbey and others, are highly sought after by fans and make for a wonderful addition to any vintage bookshelf. The works of this beloved author can be characterised as having a keen observation of human behaviour, a satirical edge, and a focus on romance and family dynamics. Her stories continue to be celebrated to this day as the warmth shown in her words travels away from the pages and straight into the heart of any who read them. Jane Austen is an icon and is certainly one of our favourites here at Country House Library. 'The Watsons' was begun byJane in Bath about 1804, but she abandoned this novel after writing 17,000 words, possibly upon the death of her father in 1805. It presents the story of Emma Watson's return to her family after a long time away. Facing severe financial problems, the only hope for this family of four daughters and an invalid father is to get the girls married before their father's death. Though Austen did not complete this work, the fragment includes a segment by her nephew commenting on how she intended to finish the novel.
