Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a thorough examination of on-farm testing conducted from 1931 to 1932 to evaluate mechanical versus hand blocking for sugar beets across the United States. The author presents performance data and the agronomic impact of row width, stand density, and cross cultivation. The analysis within sheds light on the viability of mechanical blocking as a substitute for hand blocking, identifies the importance of cross cultivation for pest control, and demonstrates the potential labor savings of using mechanical equipment. The findings hold significant implications for improving the efficiency and productivity of sugar beet cultivation.
