La première Edition, dont le succès a dépassé nos espoirs, nous a encouragés à faire paraître cette nouvelle édition complètement modifiée : le texte a été remanié et augmenté, les photos changées, les procédés de Laboratoire remis à jour. Il se peut que nous ayons oublié quelque chose : nous demandons à tous nos lecteurs, non seulement de nous le signaler, mais de nous donner des suggestions pour les prochaines éditions, qui paraîtront régulièrement chaque année. A la suite du concours organisé dans notre première édition, nous avons reçu plus de 3.000 photos, parmi lesquelles certaines dignes de tous éloges. Dans cette édition, nous publions quelques-unes de ces photos, entre autres celles qui ont gagné les premier, deuxième et troisième prix du concours. Il en sera ainsi pour la prochaine édition où prendront place les meilleures photos de celui qui accompagnait le premier tirage de la présente édition. Un nouveau concours sera ouvert à tous les possesseurs du prochain Almanach Prisma. Celui-ci entièrement remanié, comportant une grande quantité de sujets nouveaux, sera le deuxième d'une série que nécessite l'ampleur du domaine photographique et les perfectionnements qui sans cesse y sont apportés. Et maintenant qu'il nous soit permis d'émettre un v?u et un espoir : la France, patrie de Daguerre et de Niepce, se doit de prendre une place de premier plan dans le domaine de la photo, tant au point de vue national qu'international : si cet ouvrage peut, pour une modeste part, y apporter une contribution, notre v?u et notre espoir seront exaucés.
