Avtorkhanov Abdurakhman Genazanovich (1908-1997) - historian, public figure, native of Chechnya, Member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) in 1927 - 37. He graduated from the Institute of Red Professorship in 1937, but in the same year he was arrested as an "enemy of the people." He was imprisoned with short breaks until 1942. During the investigation, very harsh methods were used against him. Avtorkhanov returned from prison a convinced anti-Soviet. In 1943, in Chechnya, he crossed the front line and offered the Germans an alliance between Chechnya and Germany, but the Germans were not interested in the alliance. After the war he remained in West Germany. He taught the history of Russia, the USSR, and the CPSU at the Russian Institute of the US Army in Germany. One of the founders of the Munich Institute for the Study of History and Culture of the USSR (1950), employee of the Radio Liberty, Sovietologist, author of numerous works on the history of the USSR. In 1950, his book "Conquest of the Party" was published in the magazine "Posev" under the pseudonym Uralov. In 1959, "Technology of Power" was published, the author's most famous classic work, considered one of the most authoritative first-hand analytical materials on the history of the 20th century. State The Mysl publishing house published it in a closed edition for members of the CPSU Central Committee and the party elite, but ordinary citizens were tried for reading it (they were given up to 7 years in prison).
