Hardcover. First Edition, Limited Edition #336/350. Octavo, 133 pages. In Very Good condition with a Very Good condition dust jacket. Spine is black with white flecks and dark gray lettering. Dust jacket protected by mylar covering and has mild shelving wear to head fore corners. Boards bound in light gray cloth, have mild shelv…ing wear along spine tail and mild soiling along tail edges. Signed flat by Newton Baird on publisher's limitation page. Decorative end papers. Shelved in Case 6. Fredric Brown began selling short stories to American mystery magazines in the mid-1930s; despite the typically short form of his work, Brown quickly became a popular name in the pulp scene. His first novel, The Fabulous Clipjoint (1947) was an Edgar award recipient. His stories have been praised as the catalyst for modern mystery and science fiction tropes by the likes of Philip K. Dick, Stephen King, and Alfred Hitchcock. In 1984, Dennis McMillan Publications began to collect and republish Fredric Brown's short stories, poems, and miscellaneous fiction into a 19 volume series. This book is Volume 3 of those unique compilations of Brown's writings, the source materials for much of modern mystery, sci-fi, and horror. 1386033. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
