Buckley on the front end page. DJ is soiled and scuffed with numerous chips and tears present, top of jacket at spine is missing a piece and rear of DJ has larger tear near the upper outside corner. Tan paper covered boards with brown cloth on spine, exterior shows scuffing and soiling despite always been protected by the dust jacket. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are toned due to age and text pages are clean but end pages and pastedowns show foxing and scuffing. Newton D. Baker served as the US Secretary of War during WWI and was also a politician, lawyer, and georgist. Please note: this is the first edition and not one of the limited edition copies.
