Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. Another mesmerizing contribution from Amos and the Moon artist and author Jan Balet, this 1959 vintage title will offer enchantment to children once again in this new reissue from AMMO Books. With no room remaining to ride Wonder Horse Ammonia with the rest of the Rollatinis, little Bambino must find another way to contribute to the family business. But performing apart from the others leaves the sixth, and youngest, Rollatini feeling lonely and left out, even as he flies with the acrobats, rubs elbows with the elephants, and teaches the dancing bear to bicycle. Not only a charming story of a small circus talent finding his place in the troupe, The Five Rollatinis also contains a colorful collection of hand-drawn illustrations to practice counting. Young readers will tally lions, tigers, clowns, and many more as they enjoy vibrant images from within the big top. Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Jan Balet (illustratore). 1st Edition. Cute story about a little girl who is spirited away by the magical Mrs Pinafore to countries around the world, learning to cook and bake as she goes. Recipes included! This is a pretty rough copy! The boards are grubby and edgeworn, the spine paper is missing, the endpapers and edges are a little browned, and there are a few small brown stains throughout. The textblock is very good, but the hinge is cracked and it is holding on to the binding by just a couple of threads.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. TALES FROM THE SPANISH ALARCON THE STORY CLASSICS 1948 SLIPCASE VERY GOOD CONDITION. As anyone who peruses my listings will quickly realize, I have a passion for old bookswhich I must confess has run rampant for years, if not decades. Now that I have retired, I am beginning to realize that something has to give, and I need to pare down my collections to more manageable proportions. SoI am letting some of them go and offering them for your consideration, including a number of books by the Folio Society, the Heritage Press and other book clubs of fine bindings, such as in this case, The Story Classics. Here then, for your consideration, please find: Pedro Antonio de Alarcon, Tales from the Spanish , illustrated by Jan Balet and published by the Story Classics, dated 1948, and a First Story Classics Edition, out of Allentown, PA. This medium-sized book (6 ¾ x 9 ½ inches, 230 pages) was selected and the illustrations and other special contents copyright 1949 by J.J. Rodale. As I have noted in another Rodale related listing, I had no idea that Rodale was once into fine bindings. The book is bound in a fine weave brown cloth with black & gilt titles and decorations on cover and spine; it is protected by a glossy black slipcase. These books seem as nicely designed and as well made as equivalent books from the Folio Society or the Heritage Press. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The slipcase has suffered a bit, with some edge wear at its opening, including a small loss of finish at the lower right-hand corner, and some minor paper finish loss just inside the upper opening. The hard covers are quite clean and bright, with just one tiny smudge of some kind on the lower right-hand corner. Inside, there is a former owner s inked name on the front endpaper but the rest of the interior pages are clean and bright. The hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library.
