Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - A notorious yet charismatic thief has long relished the thrill of outwitting the law, but when he learns of a clandestine revolutionary movement threatening the nation, he finds a cause worth more than mere profit. Teaming up with his oldest friend-a detective inspector sidelined by skepticism-he plunges into a shadowy world of secret meetings and coded loyalties, where the mysterious Chief commands an army of devoted followers from every walk of life.Following a catastrophic train crash, the thief seizes an unlikely chance: impersonating one of the society's inner circle to attend a pivotal gathering. Swathed in bandages and affecting a Welsh lilt, he must navigate the suspicions of fellow conspirators and the unnerving charisma of the Chief, all while racing to uncover the date of the impending uprising. In a game where masks are second nature, one slip could prove fatal-not only for him, but for everything he now hopes to protect.…
