Mephistoles appears in red on front cover, holding the curtain back on one side (a regimental soldier with rifle and bayonet holding the opposite curtain open) to reveal orchestra playing in pit with line of dancing Satan-figures in red on stage. The performance ran three nights for charity. Bangs' interest may be understood by noting the presence of his wife's name as a Patroness of the opening night. The ads and illustrations include large depictions of safes, bicycles, etc. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Book.
