Their needs are not recognised, leaving them vulnerable to human rights violations. Thus, migration in older age and ageing outside the home country are also issues of international human rights law. However, older migrants often escape international human rights regulations and determining the obligations of states to respect, protect and fulfil the human rights of older people 'on the move' is very difficult.
