The purpose of this study is to measure and interpret the recent changes in Taiwan. Data collected from Taiwan is compiled in a unique database for analysis. This book discusses the findings from this analysis and interprets the direction of change brought by intergenerational change. In addition, a cross-cultural analysis between Sweden and Taiwan is performed using the latest data collected from the two countries. Results suggest that Taiwan's shift is in the direction of Postmodernity. In addition, younger people are found to be more tolerant against different groups of people compared to the older generation. The analysis should be useful to people who study the value change phenomena and people who are interested in political science and sociology. 108 pp. Englisch.

In Deutschland ist es in erster Line der Pädagogik-ProfessorWilhelm Heitmeyer, der im Rahmen seiner Langzeitforschung zur ¿Gruppenbezogenen Menschenfeindlichkeit¿ den Begriff der Islamophobie etabliert hat. Unter bewusster Ausklammerung einer rationalen Kritik am Islam wurden diese Formulierungen unter demSchlagwort der ¿Islamophobie¿ zusammengefasst und bildeten einen nicht unumstrittenen Begriff, der im Diskurs um eine generell ablehnende Haltung gegenüber muslimischen Personen und allen Glaubensrichtungen, Symbolen und religiösen Praktiken des Islamsbenutzt wird.Ablehnende und feindselige Haltungen gegenüber einer fremden Kultur, einer anderen Religion, Fremdenfeindlichkeit oder Rassismus sind in der Vorurteils- und Rassismusforschung keine neuen Phänomene. Seit einigen Jahren sind allerdings Parallelen bei Feindseligkeiten gegenüber Muslimen und Juden zu beobachten. Dieser neue und in derForschung teilweise umstrittene Zusammenhang ist dabei kein rein wissenschaftliches, theoretisches Konstrukt, sondern orientiert sich durchaus an konkreten Ereignissen. So wurde beispielsweise am 13. Dezember 2008 die Außenmauer der Gedenkstätte des ehemaligenKonzentrationslagers Mauthausen in Oberösterreich mit dem Satz: ¿Was unseren Vätern der Jud ist für uns die Moslembrut seid auf der Hut! 3. Weltkrieg ¿ 8. Kreuzzug¿ beschmiert. Einige Wochen zuvor ist es der Leiter des Berliner Zentrums für Antisemitismusforschung, Wolfgang Benz, welcher im Vorwort des 17. Jahrbuchs für Antisemitismusforschung schreibt: ¿Die pauschale Stigmatisierung des Islam und der Muslime wird in den Medien von Wissenschaftlern, Politikern und auf alltäglichen Foren geübt¿, dabei gehe dieAntisemitismusforschung von einer Vergleichbarkeit der Stimmung gegen Muslime mit Antisemitismus und Judenfeindschaft aus. In beiden Fällen würden ¿Verschwörungsfantasien ebenso wie vermeintliche Grundsätze und Gebote der Religion, die mit mehr Eifer alsSachkenntnis behauptet wurden¿ zum Tragen kommen. Gerade die Argumentation unter der Zuhilfenahme von Stereotypen sei als ein Phänomen aus der Antisemitismusforschung bekannt und aus diesem Grund im Zusammenhang mit Islamfeindschaft interessant.
