Outstanding spine, as these spines go. See scans. Contents fine, with the usual pulp toning. For the specific articles of this issue, see cover and contents scans. By 1958, some UFO specialists - like Ray Palmer - were starting to publish more elaborate and wider-circulation products, like this UFO-investigation vehicle, than the smaller, cheaply reproduced efforts of the first pioneers. This is an example - a scarce one. L61.

Wrappers. Condizione: Good Plus. D.C. Lucchesi (illustratore). First Edition. Clarksburg, WV: Gray Barker, 1955. First Edition of the January, 1955 issue, Vol 3, No 1; the fifth issue ever published. Cover illustration by D.C. Lucchesi. From the collection of UFOlogist Max Miller. Octavo, illustrated green and white stapled wraps, 46 pp. Soiling to both covers, as well as most internal pages, not affecting readability; rust at staples, which have pulled through, leaving covers loose around textblock. Just good plus. A very rare early issue of Gray Barker's Saucerian publication, originally a monthly, then quarterly publication which was edited, in part written, and published by Barker. Campy, spooky and often thought provoking by a master of the subject. 46 pages of reports, rumors, drawings, photos and humor. This issue is particularly packed (see contents scan), and features 5 of the 46 pages devoted to James W. Moseley's "Who's Lying? The Wright Field Story". Kitschy interior art by Lucchesi. The periodical is a vintage Ufology icon. From the collection of Max Miller, founder of Flying Saucers International, and editor of its publication, Saucers. L103.

Staple. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. I believe this is the first issue due to the fact that it is on poor quality paper and crude type. Both conditions Gray Barker stated he fixed in the second edition. Also, this has a receipt date of July 6, 1966 by the former owner and stated received from Gray Barker. My second issue has the same owners date of October 1966. The rear page of this has some bleeding of some other piece of printed matter. Some wrinkling. Perhaps the most interesting part of this small publication is the list of books "These out of print rare books now at last available" and "Rare back issues of "The Saucerian" and Saucerian Bulletin still available" and " Latest list of flying saucer book in stock her at saucerian publications" This makes a nice list of UFO material.
