But it would, I think, be well to describe generally the present condition of these five papyri, since an account of the difficulties which they have presented may serve both to excuse some of the shortcomings of this work and to suggest ways of overcoming such difficulties when they are met with in other fragmentary papyri, Greek as well as Egyptian." (Introduction). Few in-text illustrations and twenty-five plates with papyri at rear. Contains appendix of the Verso Texts with commentary, indices of literary texts and the verso documents, followed by list of names of authors, books, and periodicals quoted in abbreviated form in the commentaries as well as abbreviations.
