The Appendix includes "Friends of early years," "Final public address," and "'Labors of Datoe' evaluated." As a botanist, Bartlett traveled to many places around the world to collect plant specimens. He traveled to Sumatra, Haiti, the Philippines, South America, and Taiwan.
