The book was published by The Pogue Publications in 1941 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It's NOT an ex-library copy and is in very good condition with a previous owner's name and address on the front loose end page. The book is 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" and has 207 pages with an Index . . . leading the reader to may poems from the "Wayside Window" program on Cincinnati's WLW. Thank you!

Pogue and James Whitcomb Riley hailed from Greenland, Indiana, as did famed landscape artist, Will Vawter. This was printed and bound at the Old Swimmin' Hold Press of Greenfield. But Pogue was born in Monon, Indiana, as was the original owner of this copy, Hazle (sic) D. Hughes, Oct. 17, 1926. Pogue wrote multiple volumes of his poetry. he was a preacher, a speech teacher, an entertainer, and a radio personality in Cincinnati.

Laid in is a letter by Pogue to Ralph Conelley of Lehigh Acres, Florida - signed by Pogue concening his request to include Conelley in an article in the Courier featuring local people who have gone out from Upland, Indiana and become important citizens in world things. Letter has a couple sentences handwritten at the end. 416 pages. Manilla type paper. Illustrated with pen drawings of Will Vawter. A couple newspaper clippings laid in - one of a Pogue poem in the Upland paper - the Courier. Both left ghost browned images. Endpapers have a little browning. Lacks dust jacket.
