In the 1960s he was editor in chief of Holt, Rinehart and Winston's school division. Illustrated by William Papas (1927-2000), an author, illustrator, and political cartoonist. He was born in South Africa, the son of a successful Greek immigrant, and lived and worked in England, Greece, Switzerland, and Oregon. He was published in The Guardian, The Sunday Times, and Punch, and had a working association with Oxford University Press. Signed by Author(s).
