This is a nonfiction biogrpahy of a painter, inventor and journalist from 1792-1884 called Rufus Porter, Yankee Pioneer, copyright 1968, first edition, hard cover, dust jacket, written by Jean Lipman with a foreword by Gerard Piel and a preface by John I. H. Baur. THIS IS NOT A LIBRARY BOOK. The books dust jacket has some chips and tears, otherwise in goog condition in a new archival mylar wrap. The book itself has slight must odor, slight fading on front bottom corner of cover, otherwise in good condition with tight binding, nice 22 full color plates and 102 in black and white, with 202 pages. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Light wear at head and tail of spine. Hinges and gutters are solid with no shadowing, illustrated endpapers. Very faint spotting of the textblock edges, opening and finishing pages. Interior text is clean and tight in it's binding, no ownership or other markings. 22 plates in full color, 102 in black and white. Unclipped DJ has little rubbing or wear, faint chipping at head and tail of spine section. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
