The reason for the low condition grade is because it appears the first free end page is missing in the half title page is torn at the hinge area, though still securely attached. Signed by the author on the title page. There is a second signature located on the half title page as well. Not sure if this was the original owner or another autograph of someone of importance. 8 x 5.5, maroon cloth with gilt lettering, 96 pp, some cover wear and soil, eps and two pages toned else a nice copy in an edge chipped, soiled, worn dw with a chipped top and bottom, a small hole and staining. INSCRIBED "To my good friends" AND SIGNED BY FRED J. BEAMAN, THE AUTHOR.

Memoirs of a theatre goer from Jackson, Michigan, where many of America's major actors appeared in the 1870's and 1880's. Charmingly discussed are Edwin Booth, Lawrence Barrett, Mary Anderson, Mars. D.P. Bowers, etc. Inscribed by author: "Compliments of the author. Fred J. Beaman. Dec. 15, 1931." Further inscribed "Merry Christmas 1931. F.J. Bearman is a Jackson man, at present Post Master, and this book has some 'local color.'" 96 pages.
