Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback large trade, very good condition, black & white text-photos, edges lightly foxed, minor edgewear. 106 pp. This first play by Dorothy Hewett is located solidly in the physical location of Redfern, an inner Sydney suburb. The changes that were happening at this time are reflected in the dialogue of the actors. The play is acted out in the years before the Vietnam War, and before young people issued their 1960s challenge to the moral values of their parents. Includes notes by Jack Beasley and Merv Lilley on the Redfern that they remember. Dorothy Hewett worked in the industrial areas of Redfern and Alexandria in the 1950s. The photos are from the first production at the New Fortune Theatre, University of Western Australia, Perth, 1967.
