Beaune, 1 vol. in-8 reliure éditeur demi-chagrin brun, dos à 4 nerfs, toutes tranches dorées, Garnier Frères libraires-éditeurs, Paris, 1880, LIX-492 pp. avec… nombreuses planches in et hors-texte Récit de voyage du jeune officier de marine français Joseph-René Bellot, qui prit part aux expéditions britanniques de secours en Arctique pour retrouver les traces de Sir John Franklin disparu avec l'Erebus et le Terror. Bellot y trouvera la mort, tombé dans une crevasse de glace dans le canal de Wellington, le 18 août 1853. Le présent journal relate l'expédition de 1851-1852 à bord du Prince-Albert. Etat très satisfaisant (coins un peu frottés, rel. lég. frottée, qq. rouss., bon état par ailleurs) Langue: Français.

Dark green-black leather spine with five spine compartments between raised bands. Gilt-stamped title in second compartment and de…coration in remaining compartments. Dark green morocco-grain cloth on boards; blind-ruled borders on both boards. All page edges gilt. White moire endpapers. Green ribbon bookmark. Title vignette. Blank leaf preceding half title inscribed: "Paul Perrochet souvenir de son grand-oncle Paul 1880." Lieutenant Bellot's account of the second voyage of the Prince Albert, under Captain William Kennedy, in search of Sir John Franklin in 1851. Bellot died the following year on another fruitless search for Franklin. This account was first published posthumously in Paris 1854 with a portrait and 1 map only. Arctic Bibliography, 1303-04. In Very Good+ Condition: leather spine is lightly rubbed; cloth boards somewhat more heavily rubbed; a clean and bright copy. Beaune, Ad. (illustratore).
