No Binding. Condizione: Near Fine. No Jacket. Original brown paper wrappers (stapled booklet). Near Fine. An uncommon, original exhibition catalog and invitation for the Charles Beckendorf art exhibition, held on Thursday, July 8, 1982, at the La Fontaine Ballroom of the Warwick Hotel in Houston, Texas. Four pages. Illustrated front cover featuring a dark-ink lithographic print of five pintail ducks in flight against a brown paper background. This specific catalog was personally addressed and extended as an invitation to Dr. J.D. Catlin and guests. As noted by the artist in the introduction, this event marked the first public showing and sale of his original artworks outside of his own Fredericksburg gallery in over ten years. The publication serves as an exhaustive, definitive checklist of Beckendorf's highly sought-after wildlife and Western art pieces from this peak era. It contains a multi-page, detailed "Catalog of Show" detailing hundreds of pieces, complete with their medium, dimensions (frame or outside measurements), and original 1982 gallery pricing. Featured artwork categories cataloged inside include: PENCIL DRAWINGS: (Items 1 through 246) featuring his detailed renderings of Whitetail Deer, Texas Longhorns, Mourning Doves, Coyotes, Quail, and historic Texas structures; WATERCOLORS: Done on fine watercolor board, matted and framed; ACRYLICS: Painted primarily on linen canvas or Strathmore rag board; PEN AND INK ORIGINALS: Master series drawings completed between 1976-1977; and MIXED MEDIA: Unique combinations of watercolor and Prismacolor paintings. A scarce reference piece for collectors of Texas art, Western Americana, and American wildlife illustration. …
