Purple cloth boards lighter to front than rear, pale brown leather to spine, hinges & corners, the sirface is a little runbbed to matt to spine which has attractive gilt decorasted cross-banding & gilt titles, light wear with rubbing to spine-ends, wear with rubbing throught to card at corners, light wear to edges. Attractive maroon, yellow & blue marbling to end-papers & page-edges. Pages of text have a wave, but are very clean & in nice condition. Binding tight. A very nice volume despite the wear described.

2 VOL SET, sm octavo, half leather bound black buckram boards, gilt lettering & rule/decoration to spine, frontispiece with tissue guard to vol 1, vol 1- xlix + 769pp, vol 2- xvi + 992pp, VG- (heavy rubbing & chafing to spines & board extrems, light chafing & staining to boards, heavy tanning to page edges, moderate tanning & foxing to eps, moderate staining to page edges of vol 1, v heavy foxing to prelims of vol 1, occasional cracking to gutters- mostly quite heavy- esp. to vol 2 & binding loosened).
