Vintage double weight photograph of actors Vanessa Brown, Wallace Beery, and director Richard Thorpe on the set of 1949 film. Mimeo snipe and rubber stamps on the verso. Set in the early 1800s, a band of outlaws take-in a distressed doctor who is on the run after digging up corpses for his medical research. Shot on location in Maryland. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.

Illustrated in black and white throughout with artworks, adverts and photographs by various contemporary San Francisco-based artists. A better than very good example, with toning to the spine and edges, lightly rubbed to the spine, edges and corners. A small water stain to the head of the spine. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. The La Mamelle / ArtCom (Art Contemporary) magazine series focused on raising the profile of San Francisco-based alternative art exhibitions and events of performance art, conceptual photography, video art production and screenings, libraries, screenings, and artist-run spaces. The publisher was founded in 1975 by Carl E. Loeffler (1946-2001), a recipient of the San Francisco Art Commission Award of Honour for his contributions to video art and the curator of the first video art collection in Northern California, which is currently held at Stanford University and the Pacific Film Archives.
