Partimos de una bibliografía según la cual las PYMES camerunesas se caracterizan por sus limitados recursos financieros, su personal no cualificado, su débil poder comercial, su insuficiente investigación-desarrollo e innovación, su escasa rotación y el envejecimiento de sus tecnologías en comparación con sus competidores de otros continentes. Esas características no pueden permitir que una PYME se mantenga al día de manera sostenible en el mercado exterior. Sin embargo, otros estudios revelan la existencia de PYMES camerunesas con mercados en el extranjero que ya han superado el punto de partida (5 años). Para alcanzar este objetivo, hemos movilizado el trabajo existente. Éstos se completaron con un estudio empírico sobre cuarenta y un PYME camerunesas. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que las PYMES camerunesas permanecen en los mercados extranjeros porque se adaptaron a las exigencias del medio ambiente. De telles caractéristiques ne peuvent pas permettre à une PME de se maintenir durablement au niveau des marchés étrangers. Pourtant, d'autres études révèlent l'existence de PME camerounaises ayant des marchés à l'étranger qui ont déjà dépassé le point de départ (5 ans), l'objectif de ce travail est d'identifier les stratégies de ces entreprises et leurs performances. Pour atteindre cet objectif, nous avons mobilisé les travaux existants. Ceux-ci ont été complétés par une étude empirique sur quarante et une PME camerounaises. Les résultats obtenus ont montré que les PME camerounaises restent sur les marchés étrangers parce qu'elles se sont adaptées aux exigences environnementales.
