456 S., Ppbd., neuwertig! - Die in Riga geborene deutschbaltische Malerin Alexandra von Berckholtz (1821-1899) gehörte den Frauen, die im 19. Jahrhundert in der bildenden Kunst in Erscheinung traten, obwohl ihnen nach wie vor das Studium an einer Kunstakademie verweigert wurde. Trotzdem gehörte sie zu den gefragtesten Porträtistinnen des 19. Jahrhunderts. Sie lebt von 1833 bis 1865 mit einer Unterbrechung (1848-1854 in Paris) in Karlsruhe, ab 1865 in München. Sie war hervorragend mit vielen wichtigen Persönlichkeiten der Kunst- und Zeitgeschichte des 19. Jahrhunderts vernetzt, durch ihr hohes karitatives Engagement gebührt ihr zusätzlich auch ein Platz in der Sozialgeschichte.…
