Diesen Tag möchten seine heutigen un…d ehemaligen Mitarbeiter sowie Schüler zum willkommenen Anlaß nehmen, ihre Dankbarkeit und herzliche Verbundenheit sowie ihren Respekt zum Ausdruck zu bringen, indem sie dem Jubilar nicht nur ihre besten Glückwünsche übermitteln, sondern ihm die vorlie gende Festschrift mit Freude widmen. Diesen Geburtstag wird Dietrich Adam ganz sicher nicht als wichtigen Einschnitt in seinem Leben betrachten, wenn man seine weiterhin vielfältigen Aktivitäten und sein stets entfaltetes starkes Engagement kennt -ob in der Lehre oder Wissenschaft, ob in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung oder in den Unternehmer-Seminaren, ob in den Neuen Bundesländern oder im Krankenhausbereich. Daher ist es viel zu früh, bereits heute seine Biographie zu entwerfen oder Bibliographie zu würdigen, um das Werden und Wirken von Dietrich Adam deutlich werden zu lassen. Die in dieser Festschrift enthaltenen Beiträge sind unter dem Generalthema 'Betriebs wirtschaftliches Controlling' zusammengefaßt worden. Dies erscheint dann gerechtfer tigt, wenn man das Aufgabengebiet des Controlling sehr weit und umfassend als Be schaffung, Aufbereitung und Analyse von Daten zur Vorbereitung zielsetzungsgerech ter Entscheidungen umschreibt. Im Vordergrund der Betrachtung stehen dabei die systembildenden und -koppelnden Funktionen der Führungs-Informationsversorgung sowie des Planungs- und Kontroll-Service.
