Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Very Good-. Tall octavo in printed tan wraps. Paginated from The Rossby Memorial Volume, 440-474. Handwritten presentation to Chester and Harriet Newton, with cordial greetings from the author (no signature). Bergeron was a prominent Swedish weather scientitist (University of Uppsala) and Newton worked as a scientist for The National Center for Atmospheric Research for many years. This copy is annoted with some underlining in what we assume is Newton's hand. The wraps shows mild wear with a small, faint dampstain in the fore-edge margin and a 1" tear at the upper edge of the front wrap. The rear wrap lists all the contents of The Rossby Memorial Volume, which, inter alia, contained a short biography of Rossby's youth by Bergeron and a piece on synoptic comparison of the Jet and Gulf stream systems by Newton. Although published by Rockefeller, this copy was printed in Stockholm by Generalstabens Litografiska Anstalt in 1959. Uncommon. Maps (illustratore).…
