Alfred Bergin (Västergötland 1866-1944 Kansas) var en svensk-amerikansk teolog som emigrerade till Minnesota 1883. Efter pastorsutbildning på Augustana Seminarium (-1894) tjänstgjorde han som missionär och pastor på ett flertal platser i North Dakota och Minnesota. Bergin har bland annat författat Lindsborg (1909) och The Swedish settlements in central Kansas (1910). Här skildras en resa i Tyskland, Österrike, Italien, Schweiz, Frankrike, Sverige och Norge.

Förlagets klotband med blindpressad dekor, bibliotekssignum prydligt skrivet i vitt nedtill på frampärmen samt i boken. Med exlibris och blindstämplar från American-Swedish Historical Foundation resp. American-Swedish Historical Museum, boken har varit en gåva från Amandus Johnson (1897-1974) som i sin tur fått den av författaren enligt dennes egenhändiga dedikation.
